[Video]

[The announcement has left him with a lot to think about. And he ends up appearing on the journals. He's gotten quite tall over his years in Luceti, and he's been sporting a beard of sorts for the past few months.]

Hey everyone. It's me, Aang. With all that talk going around about the announcement... I thought I'd give everyone somewhere to talk about the good things, too. The things we'll miss about this place. Even if it's full of bad things, everyone has to have something about here that we like. Even aside from all of the friends and family we've made here!

So let's all say at least one favorite thing from here in Luceti. It could be your favorite place to spend time, your favorite food or activity that you discovered here in this world, or... even just a shift that wasn't as bad as it could have been?

No matter who ends up staying or going... or who's right or wrong... one thing I know is that change is coming. So let's think about what memories to take comfort in, for when that time comes.

[The teenage monk appears over the video feed. He's still sporting the chin fuzz he grew back during the tail end of that time travel shift. And he's looking a bit worried, because his first meeting with the Avatar spirit did not go well.]

Hey everyone. This is Aang. I just wanted to ask you all... Can you let me know if you see a specific spirit around anywhere? Really big, glows a lot, kind of looks like a kite but isn't! I think it's kind of important...

If you see her, tell her it's all a misunderstanding and to find me I guess? ...Thanks!

[Action]

[Aang can be found in his daily routine around Luceti: at House 56, by the air gates near that house, checking out the library, manning the Welcome Center or the bakery and also exploring the forest. At almost any of these places, Aang will also be practicing meditation, but he's a little more uneasy than usual.]

[There had been a whole mix of things the last few weeks. The return of Korra, the coming of Kai, and the news of more airbenders in Aang's future. It was a lot to reflect on and take in, on top of Zuko and Kai's fighting.

But now, he thinks it's time to try to just breathe and relax. Summer's almost over, and the pool in the backyard of House 56 has been criminally underused this year. So, a fairly chipper-looking monk shows his face on the journals.]

Hey everyone! It's me, Aang. I just thought... since it's summer and all, and it won't be too long until fall... We could all have some fun! We have a pool in our backyard, and anyone's welcome to come and play in it today! It'll be lots of fun, really!

...Oh, and if you don't know where we live, it's House number 56! Follow the road down from the plaza, and when you see a house with two floors that's a got a statue of a guy's head in front of it, you know you've found it!

[Action]

[And so Aang can be found at the pool. There's an earthbending slide that can be ridden from the second floor to the pool, as well as a trampoline set up nearby. Aang will ride the slide and often jump into the pool while using a number of tricks using his airbending and waterbending. The teenage monk can also fooling around in an octopus form.

And of course since he's wearing shorts, his tattoos and scar will be very visible.]

[He's met so many people from so many different worlds. And lost many of them over time. It was thinking of this that sparked an idea when he came across all of the floating lanterns that were left over from the birthday party he threw for Rapunzel last year. And it was this which prompted him to make an address over the journals before he went to school that morning.]

Hey everyone! It's me... Aang! I just wanted to remind you guys that today's the day to have the festival for Avatar Yangchen. Nothing too big... there's gonna be kite flying and air nomad food. It'll be by the south lake, but anyone who doesn't want to walk can get a ride on Appa!

And... I got another idea for something to do later. [He holds up one of the lanterns.] I found these. Last year during this month, we set these lanterns that we made out as a special surprise for Rapunzel's birthday. She's... not here anymore, but I think that just gives us a new reason to do this.

[And he looks on solemnly.]

A lot of us here have been away from home a long time... and a lot of us have also had people dear to us go back home where they belong. Sometimes they leave behind letters... but we never get to say goodbye. That's why I thought of this. Whenever you get a lantern, and you're about to set it free... you can put notes on it. Your own messages for those people who aren't here anymore... or even for people you miss who never came here at all. It can be a way of remembering them and wishing them well. I think... Maybe it'd be a good idea!

[He smiles warmly.]

Even with all the people we've lost... I don't think that's a reason to stop hoping and to stop making new friends. Because... the best way to make it in this place is by having these people to hold onto. Because even if they're not always around... It's knowing and caring for other people that helps us to get even stronger. And I think it'll help us to keep moving forward. [He rubs at the back of his head nervously.] So, with all that said... I hope you guys have a good time with the festival! And I hope the ceremony helps.

[Action]

[There will be a log for the festival and stuff eventually! Otherwise, Aang is practicing bending by House 56 in the morning, at school until the afternoon and then hosting the festival/lantern ceremony until the evening.

Finally, at night, he spends some time at the river near his house, quietly meditating. He once more reflects back on everything - and about the future he's learned of. The adult him who he fears he'll never measure up to. The family whose potential existence feels him with hope, fear, joy and insecurity. And he tries to reach within himself as he meditates. He might not be able to reach the spirits of the past Avatars here in Luceti. But maybe, by digging deep enough, he can find one particular spirit...]

[Aang appears on the video feed partway through his day, looking a little chipper while sitting at the bakery.]

Hey everyone! It's me, Aang. I just thought I'd talk about a few things. If anyone is looking for a way to spend their time here in Luceti, there's some job openings that could be for you! I'm here at the bakery right now, and there aren't many people here who help out. So if you want to try out, you're welcome to! Speaking of that word, the Welcome Center could also use more people to help manage it. [And maybe someone to actually run it.]

Just let me know if you're interested! In the meantime, I'm trying to make bonds with more of the filial spirits. [He already has Kipinn, who came naturally to him. And Nala, he sought after his second draft, so that he wouldn't be completely powerless when it comes to healing. Even if most of the other spirits overlap with his bending abilities, he still thinks that as the Avatar he should be trying to make pacts with them.] I think next, I'm gonna go for Sona. Anyone wanna come lend a hand?

I think that's it- oh! One other thing. Does anyone remember when Avatar Yangchen's festival is supposed to be? I can't believe I forgot about it for so long! It's the best air nomad holiday, and I only remembered it after I had a dream about it the other day! I should figure out when to celebrate it. The Malnosso don't seem to know about it, so it should be fun! Then people can get to see what one of our holidays are like.

[Action]

[And so, Aang buzzes between locations like a busy scorpion bee. Either working at the bakery - where he plays some of Rapunzel's old big band records, with a swing in his step. He also make stops at the Welcome Center and the library, sometimes accompanied by Momo.

Later in the day, he sets off on Appa's back, checking around the two lakes to try out connecting with Sona.]

[Action]

[The day is off to a normal start for Aang, starting with airbending practice. He also spends some of the morning using airbending to play around with the leaves on the front lawn of House 56.

After school, he then spends some time cooking at the bakery. He puts together a mix of cookies, cupcakes and some fruit pies of different flavors, and anyone can pop in while he's working on that. He leaves some at the bakery and takes the rest to the Welcome Center, where he sets them up as treats for visiting New Feathers. He spends some time lingering there to do what Welcome Center-ing work there is to be done. And before heading home for dinner, he takes Appa out for a ride flying in the air over Luceti.]

[While Aang's at the Welcome Center, he sets up a video. The treats he prepared are visible on a table in the background. Those who met him during the last experiment can probably pick up over the video that he now looks 15-ish rather than 12, although it's easier to tell the difference in person.]

Hello. How is everyone? It's Aang here, and I've got a few things I wanted to say. First of all, isn't it great that it's autumn now? That's like the best time of the year! Does anyone know any fun things you like to do in autumn? I'd like to try out all kinds of new things.

I... also wanted to say something about the way I was a few weeks ago. When I was littler again. I lied and told some of you I wasn't the Avatar, but I really am. I'm sorry about that. [He pauses for a moment.] Other than that... I left some treats out in the Welcome Center to help greet any New Feathers! If you have any questions about this place, one of us there will do our best to help you. I know lots of things can be confusing and unfamiliar in this place. Come to think of it... Is it just me, or is this New Feather cycle going on longer than usual?

( One year later Aangtrospection )

[Aang pops open the journal when he's home that afternoon, regarding it with a bright smile.]

Hey, everyone. It's Aang. [He almost wants to say, I've been here a year now. Isn't that weird?] Have any of you ever been able to do anything really neat with your wings? I know they can't fly, but still... between my wings, airbending and Kipinn, there's gotta be some kinda awesome trick I can pull off...

[It just feels important for today in particular to accomplish something. To feel like he's grown in some way.]

And by the way! If anyone wants to go on adventures with me and Appa while there's still snow around, feel free to let me know.

[And he goes through a variety of tasks throughout the day. Aside from spending the early part of the day at school. And after school, then he spends a few hours playing around in the snow and possibly taking Appa out on some journeys. He also slips in some time at the library before going home for dinner. No need to make a big deal of the day. And before he goes to the bed, he bundles up and goes over by the river to do some rare nighttime meditation. He hopes that maybe he'll stumble upon something, some way to advance peace in this world.]

[Aang addresses the journals before heading out that day, upon recognizing the date.]

Hey! It's the solstice today, right? Has anyone checked to see if that door in the tunnel opened by itself yet? In my experience, those kinds of things tend to happen on this day!

But, other than that? I'm really glad that it's winter! What are your favorite things to do in the snow and for the winter? I want to have as much fun as I can with the snow today, so let me know!

[And Mordecai the elf chimes in with a "Snowmen are my favorite!"]

[Action]

[And so the fourteen year old monk spends a portion of the afternoon playing in the snow while following suggestions from his elf. Feel free to join him during light-hearted shenanigans. For most of them, he's even wearing a funny hoodie hat. And he'll also seek out Toph at some point to consult her on something. Or...

You can catch him while or after meditating. At a certain point of day, when the sun is in the right point in the sky (and his elf is taking a nap). Aang is practicing some type of deep, deep meditation. You might even think he's fallen asleep, with the goofy hoodie hat slumping off of his head. Until he opens his eyes, and...

glowing eyes. His elf is startled into awakeness and proceeds to hide.]

[It seemed like a normal day for the 14-year old Avatar until airbending training came to an end with no sign of Korra. There were any number of reasons for her absence - she didn't exactly have a reputation for punctuality - but he couldn't help but worry. He started towards the other Avatar House to check, only to find Bolin, now the sole resident of the house. And there was only one conclusion: Korra, his reincarnation, had gone back home, to whatever world it was he and his friends would help to shape in the future.

He addressed the journals with a light smile, and he tried not to sound solemn.]

Hi, everyone. It's me, Aang. I just wanted to let you all know that Korra's gone back home. From what I know... she's going to be fine and become a great Avatar. And she's gonna save a lot of people, including my family. But aside from all that, while she was here, she was... funny and tough and nice and a great friend. [A little tougher than he expected. But she was also a living not-so-welcome reminder of his own mortality, due to being his next life. He still regretted not getting the chance to talk over some issues with her.]

I feel grateful to her, and I hope you all remember her, too.

[Action]

[Aang will spend time at the item shop and the clothing shop getting some manner of materials for this "Halloween" thing that Ikki keeps talking about. Feel free to run into him; he'll be collecting large quantities of red and blue materials piecemeal to make a costume for Appa that looks like the "Superman" person that Katie told him about. He'll also be trying to put together a Robin costume for himself.]

[Aang is peering into the journal so his face takes up almost the entire screen. He begins shouting into the book as abruptly as his image appears]

Hey! What am I doing here? I'm Aang! I'm an Airbender. Does anyone know what's going on here? I can't find my friends, my clothes or any of my stuff! I thought I was on my sky bison with everyone else going to see the Earth King. Now I'm here. Have anyone of you book people seen anyone I know?

[Aang has pulled away from the journal but continues talking as he sits in a patch of grass.]

This is a really weird place. But kinda peaceful. Definitely not weird enough to be the Spirit World. What is going on here?? And... have I always had these wings?

[Aang lifts up the book with one hand, squinting and examining it like some foreign object. This results in the picture showing his quizzical face from a skewed angle.]
