I know, it just feels like - I don't know. I've got a lot to catch up on.

[ but she does soften and smile at that. ]

It was tough, but we did it. And we were really proud of how you dealt with Ozai, too.

But I haven't been here for long, and we're from the same time. I don't think there's much for you to catch up on... so just relax.

[His smile grows warmer, a little flustered at her expression of pride.]

Y-you were proud? Thank you. I... I tried what felt like the right away for me and hoped for the best. I'm really proud of what you did, too.

I'm trying. Honest. I'll get there, I promise.

[ well, she can at least get them both water, and so she does that as she settles at the table. ]

But... I'm glad that you followed your heart.

[He sits down as well as he sips from his glass of water.]

It's okay... take your time! [He hope she can calm down for her own sake more than anything.]

Thanks again. I guess that my heart get some really neat ideas sometimes!

[ she will! eventually. and she takes a breath, folding her arms on the table and watching him. ]

Yeah, I think so, too.

[ and now for the awkward water sipping. ]

[He's fidgeting a little in his seat but trying to maintain a calm.

One, long, awkward, sip.]

S-so... space, huh? [But what she's told him is still fresh on his mind. Another place where she was trapped?]

Yeah. It's really something else, huh?

[ she wraps her fingers around the cup, just holding it more than actually drinking it. ]

It's a lot quieter than the castle was. And home, too.

It is quieter than most places I've ever been... [He says a little sadly. Being cooped up in spaceships isn't very good for air nomads.

But he then glances towards her thoughtfully.]</small. Wait, a castle?

[kyasdaughter]

Oh.

[ she puts the cup down, a little surprised. ]

When I told you I was in that other place... it was kind of, um. A giant, magic castle.

Oh! [He sounds a little intrigued as he looks up from his glass.]

Sounds like a really neat place! [But he says that with some hesitance; she doesn't sound very excited to mention it.]

[kyasdaughter]

It was, sort of. [ and katara... kind of makes a scrunched face here. ] Zuko was the only person I really knew there, though.

Zuko was there too? [He nods thoughtfully.] I- I'm glad you weren't alone.

[kyasdaughter]

I wish I had been!

[ it's frustration, but not true anger. it's the kind of annoyance that surprises and embarrasses even her when it bubbles over like that. ]

He, uh - he was from before we all became friends.

[savedtheworld]

W-what? [Now Aang looks concerned. That was a kind of timebending he hadn't been acquainted with yet.]

He didn't try to chase you, did he... Was everything alright?!

[kyasdaughter]

No. I mean, not that he would've had any luck if he tried. [ she could've taken him rabble rabble >C ] He just didn't want anything to do with me! And he never believed me when I told him we were friends!

[Now Aang looks disappointed with Zuko... and a bit worried for what it must have been like for her.]

I can't believe Zuko would act like that! Even back then... You'd think a magic castle would help a guy lighten up!

[kyasdaughter]

You'd think.

[ she just sort of sighs, seeming more put out than actively upset anymore. ]

But he made some friends, at least. Well. One. Still better than nothing, I guess.

W-well... I guess that's good. I hope they got along well. [He nods with a frown.]

Did... did you make good friends?

[kyasdaughter]

Yeah. I did, actually - I made a lot of good ones. [ she fixes him with a half-smile, almost sheepish now. ] It never made me miss you guys any less, though. And - oh! I met some people from the future, too. Our future, I mean. [ and this is where the excitement really starts to unfold on her face. ]

[savedtheworld]

[He looks on fondly as she says that... but the last part catches him off-guard.]

Wait! What do you mean, our future? Like... future-future? ...The future?

[kyasdaughter]

Yeah, like... really, really far in the future.

[ she tucks her hair a little nervously behind her ear, then smiles hopefully. ]

I met the next Avatar.

[savedtheworld]

Wait, what?! [It's a good thing he wasn't drinking at the moment, or there would be a spittake.]

Are... are you sure it was the next Avatar, Katara? [The next Avatar would be a Waterbender...]

[kyasdaughter]

Yeah. She was from the future. Um - far in the future, trust me when I say that I made sure of that.

[ though maybe not far enough, if what korra told her held true. still... ]

She was... great. And she said that we made a big difference in the world. It was pretty nice to hear, I guess, after everything.

[savedtheworld]

Of course I trust you. [He says softly, as he works his way through the shock. He manages to settle on a warm smile as he thinks his way through it.]

I never really thought about that far in the future. [It's taken a lot of his journey just to see the full scope of the war; he's always been someone living in the now more than anything.] I... I'm really glad that we're gonna make a difference. That all of this matters. I hope that next Avatar gets a real peaceful life... You said 'she'?

[kyasdaughter]

It really does.

[ katara bites her lip, a little embarrassed by how excited she is. ]

Her name's Korra. She's a waterbending, from the Southern Water Tribe.
