Oh... you are? It's even greater to meet you now! I'm honored to meet one of Avatar Korra's friends and a real live probender! I've heard a lot, just not... your name. I did get your brother's name, since he's Asami's boyfriend.

Yeah! Korra's one of my best friends! She's really amazing which is kind of standard since she's an avatar, I'm sure you're pretty amazing too since you saved the world in all-

Wait, she didn't mention me at all?

N-not really. She talked about how much she loves probending and all, but she didn't really tell me much about her friends. It just didn't come up, I guess.

[SIGHS. He kind of expects it by now. He's not the most important guy on the team, after all. If you're meeting your past avatar life there are more pertinent things to talk about than that guy on your probending team.

For now he has different priorities.]

So she's here? Is she okay? Is anyone else here or is it some kind of strange feathery avatar party that I'm crashing?

She's here, and she's... you could say she's okay. But this is a dangerous place. It messes with our head and the people who keep us here, the Malnosso, they run experiments that can change us temporarily. As for everyone else who's here... most of my friends are here from my time. And from... uh, "your" time, there's also my granddaughter Jinora, Asami... some guy named Tahno and... Tarrlok.

Asami and Jinora too? Oh man.

[At the mention of Tahno and Tarrlok his expression changes. See this face Aang? This is a face of NOPE. Tahno is a much smaller problem since he got equalized but...]

Tarrlok? He's seriously a nasty dude! He kidnapped Korra, and and tried to oppress everyone who isn't a bender and he's a bloodbender, too!

Yeah, we... we've heard already from the others. But he doesn't have his bending anymore because of that bad guy you guys fought. And he hasn't caused any trouble yet at all.

Yeah... He vanished after the whole final showdown with Korra and Amon. It's all really complicated from what I heard.

He did? I never knew about all of that. I just assumed he got... arrested. For being a no-good... b-bloodbender. [It's a struggle to say the word.] But Katara managed to settle things with him here.

Nobody really knows what happened... Katara? I've met her! Is she... [Is there a tactful way to say not old?] Is she your age?

You have, huh? [He tries to hide how weird that makes him feel. That this guy's known a Katara who was most likely old and married to him.] She's three years older than me now, cuz he's been in Luceti longer so she has an extra year ahead.

Yeah, we went to the north pole because we hoped she would have been able to undo Amon's bloodbending.

[That whole different amounts of time thing worries him though.]

...So people can be stuck here for a long time?

Oh. [He doesn't know much else to address this, having heard some of this from Katara herself through Asami's account. It's still weird to think about.]

Yeah. Sorry, I shouldn't have sprung it on you so quick. But Sokka and Katara are the only ones who have been here for real long. The weird thing is, the people from your time didn't start showing up until two months ago, during the last cycle. [Bringing with them all of their futures.]

It's... it's okay I guess. I'm getting used to crazy things. [He scratches the back of his head and then gives Pabu some scritches between the ears when nudged to do so.]

It must be weird for you guys, too. I'm still kind of freaking out that I'm talking to the hero of Republic City.

[Aang smiles at him.]

It is pretty weird to be the hero of Republic City. I know I did kinda save the world and everything with the help of my friends, but it's still so overwhelming the way people think of me from the future. And... I've learned so much about my life that I didn't know. ...Much more than I should know. [He'd prefer to stop at there being more airbenders - and sure, throw in marrying Katara too.]

I'll try to keep from talking too much about it if you want. I'd probably be just as weirded out if someone showed up from my future.

...So, um. Awkward question. Do you know where I can get clothes? [He gestures down to the new feather pants, which already have grass stains at the knees and mud on the hems. Earth benders have a talent for messiness.]

Thanks, Bolin. I appreciate it. [But he doubts he'd know much that Aang hasn't heard already from the others.]

Oh! Right. They should have your clothes at the clothing shop. It's just one of the weird things about this place. Right this way. [And he walks over in the direction of the shop.]

No problem!

[He follows Aang's lead and falls in step with him, looking around curiously.]

So what's the deal with this place? You said it's called Lucity?

Yeah, Luceti. It's a village trapped inside a bubble that no one can break because of the Malnosso. And the Malnosso are these weird scientist guys who keep us trapped in here and run experiments on us. They keep on saying that they're trying to keep us safe and find a way for us to go back home, and that they're from other worlds too, but they're still real mean to us. And they're fighting a war against the Third Party. They're a bunch of... really scary guys.

So we're stuck with some nasty dudes and they're against even nastier ones? [This all sounds distinctly Not Good. He hopes Korra and Asami have been okay here.] I was really hoping for some downtime after the war with the Equalists.

I'm sorry. You guys deserve rest after all you've been through. But nothing about this place is fair. If it makes it sound any better, we're left to do whatever we want here, most of the time. It's not that often that they do experiments and it's even rarer that we're forced to get involved in their war.

It's not your fault that some of us ended up here, though. [The mentions of experiments gives him a bad feeling but he doesn't mention it.]

So what does everyone do here?

[He nods along, even if he still feels guilty; as the Avatar, he should be able to do more.]

We just live our lives the best we can. There's restaurants and organizations to join, there's a school to attend, and there's a place called the Battle Dome for practice. Training is real important in case of emergencies, and fortunately because there's people from all different worlds, they know many more ways of defense. [He pauses thoughtfully. There has to be something he's missing... oh.] We also have the journals. They're magic books that we use to communicate. You should have one, too.

Oh this thing? [He takes his journal out from where he tucked it into his waistband.] Pabu found it and since it had my name on it I thought it might be important.

[He flips it open curiously] So... it's like a radio shaped like a book?
