Book 19: Summer Breeze

[There had been a whole mix of things the last few weeks. The return of Korra, the coming of Kai, and the news of more airbenders in Aang's future. It was a lot to reflect on and take in, on top of Zuko and Kai's fighting.

But now, he thinks it's time to try to just breathe and relax. Summer's almost over, and the pool in the backyard of House 56 has been criminally underused this year. So, a fairly chipper-looking monk shows his face on the journals.]

Hey everyone! It's me, Aang. I just thought... since it's summer and all, and it won't be too long until fall... We could all have some fun! We have a pool in our backyard, and anyone's welcome to come and play in it today! It'll be lots of fun, really!

...Oh, and if you don't know where we live, it's House number 56! Follow the road down from the plaza, and when you see a house with two floors that's a got a statue of a guy's head in front of it, you know you've found it!

[Action]

[And so Aang can be found at the pool. There's an earthbending slide that can be ridden from the second floor to the pool, as well as a trampoline set up nearby. Aang will ride the slide and often jump into the pool while using a number of tricks using his airbending and waterbending. The teenage monk can also fooling around in an octopus form.

And of course since he's wearing shorts, his tattoos and scar will be very visible.]

[Wan doesn't really know how to protect himself or doge a blast of air, so he goes tumbling back. But he does have pretty good reflexes, and plenty of experience on rooftops. One he is about to go over the edge he clings for dear life (with a little huffing and panicked noises) before pulling himself back up.

When Kai realizes what happens he will probably notice Wan's awkward mug peeking over the edge. There is no hiding that he was the culprit, given they are the only two idiots on the roof and his hair is sticking up more wildly than usual.]

[It takes Kai a few seconds to realize he'd been attacked with cold water. His fingers poked at where it had hit his chest a few times to be sure that's all it was before he finally looks around for his assailant. The roof couldn't hide the hair.]

Hey! What was that for?

[Yeah Wan is going to pull himself back on the roof instead of dangling over the edge. Normally he might drop down and see if Kai bothers to chase him, but he's not close enough to the slide and he is too close to the house to ease his landing with some firebending.

Despite his wind powers Kai isn't that intimidating anyways.]

Wasn't it refreshing?

[he says as he tries to make his smile as innocent as possible.]

[Kai continued to scowl and let out a puff of air before looking away.]

Pfft. No. If I wanted to get wet, I'd be in the pool.

[Wan's demeanor shifts from playfulness to sympathy. Only it's a really, really exaggerated sympathy. Because unlike Kai, Wan has not mastered the art of "subtle" acting.]
