[Back home, Aang wasn't really one to pay much attention to individual dates of the month, aside from eventually looking out for his friend's birthdays and stuff, although he could barely remember his own. But in Luceti, it was a lot easier to keep track of time. After all, he could see what day it is right on the journal. It was a near part of every morning to check out what today's date was. Even though, as this month approached, he had begun to realize exactly how much time he was spending here. And it was today when he got the definite proof: for the first time, he saw a date in the journal he had seen before. March the 19th.

That confirmed it: he had already been here a whole year. To think he was technically 15 now, even though he didn't feel it (partly because his body is still 14 from the brief trip home he had several months back). It already felt like so long ago when first arrived and got used to the situation. To the fact that he and Katara weren't a couple in this world - and that Katara and Sokka had lived in this world for so long without him. He wanted to do what he could to make it up to them. And now, a year later, he wondered if he had. And if he could make any real differences here in this world, for the betterment of them all. And aside from that... He thought of how much things had changed over this whole year. How he learned his future and met his next life. Met Ikki, the airbending apple of his eye. All of the good, bad and ugly coming from knowing the future; and it was only possible here, in Luceti.]

[Aang pops open the journal when he's home that afternoon, regarding it with a bright smile.]

Hey, everyone. It's Aang. [He almost wants to say, I've been here a year now. Isn't that weird?] Have any of you ever been able to do anything really neat with your wings? I know they can't fly, but still... between my wings, airbending and Kipinn, there's gotta be some kinda awesome trick I can pull off...

[It just feels important for today in particular to accomplish something. To feel like he's grown in some way.]

And by the way! If anyone wants to go on adventures with me and Appa while there's still snow around, feel free to let me know.

[And he goes through a variety of tasks throughout the day. Aside from spending the early part of the day at school. And after school, then he spends a few hours playing around in the snow and possibly taking Appa out on some journeys. He also slips in some time at the library before going home for dinner. No need to make a big deal of the day. And before he goes to the bed, he bundles up and goes over by the river to do some rare nighttime meditation. He hopes that maybe he'll stumble upon something, some way to advance peace in this world.]

[Appa blinks - he's had a lot of weirdness to get used to himself. And he playfully blows some air from his nose at the pony - possibly enough to blow her back a bit.]

He's the most amazing! And he's from home if that's what you mean. He just didn't come at the same time as me. [Aang had to go through a tough few months without his life buddy.]

[ She does indeed float back a few feet, and blinks at the surprisingly powerful breath this little fellow has. ]

I thought that I hadn't seen any of these in the forest.

So! Where to? Are we going to see the mountain ranges? I haven't seen those close up. Oh, or the forest? Or are there nearby settlements to encounter?

[ She babbles because she's barely been outside the library recently, and is happy for an excuse to stretch her wings. And have adventures! ]

Hey, one at a time, Twilight! [He laughs and waves to try to calm her down.]

There aren't really any other settlements aside from the village - just a few buildings here or there. But we can definitely check out the mountains or the forest!

Okay! I'll let you decide, since you're the expert. I have already seen a little bit of the forest. But not very much.

Oh, this is so exciting! [ She's flying circles around him now. ]

[Aang giggles as he watches her circle him - he's going to get dizzy, fast.]

Hey, save some of that energy for flying up there! After all, I think mountains're the best for flying. Especially since it doesn't sound like you've seen them at all yet!

Nope! Lead the way, Aang. [ She peers down at Appa. ] Does he fly if you ask him nicely, or... ?

Just watch this! [He hops atop Appa's head and grabs he reins attached to his horns. Then he adds.] And... maybe you should stand back.

Yip yip!

[Then, with a tug of the reins, the sky bison is lifting off into the air!]

[ Her grin goes EVEN WIDER, and she flies up next to the beast's head. ] Fluttershy would give her left hoof to get a look at you!

She would? [He looks towards her in confusion as Appa ascends.] But I wouldn't want anything to happen to her hoof, whoever she is!

Oh, it's just an expression. I'm sure she wouldn't actually give her hoof to see him. She'd probably just ask really, really, really, really politely.

Does he have a name?

Oh, that makes me feel better! It's nice that she's polite. She just doesn't have to be that polite!

I didn't give you his name yet? I'm sorry! How about a proper introduction? [As Appa evens out in the air.] Twilight, this Appa. Appa, this is Twilight Sparkle.

[And Appa gives a bellow of greeting.]

Appa! Pleased to meet you. The name's Twilight Sparkle.

[ She nuzzles up to him in midair and laughs again. ]

Oh, and I'm not really exaggerating there. Well, maybe a little. But Fluttershy's one of the gentlest, kindest ponies I know.

[Appa seems pleased to meet her too, nuzzling along with her.]

Really? It's hard to imagine a pony even kinder than you!

That's kind of you to say, but Fluttershy's the element of kindness! I'm just the element of magic! Although I think that means I have a little bit of all the other elements in me, as well.

[He squints towards her while loosening his holds on the reins.]

Really? Does that make you like a... pony Avatar?

Uh... I don't really know. Korra said something about the Avatar maintaining balance in the world a while ago. Is that accurate? [ Something occurs to her. ] Are you an Avatar, too?

That is accurate! And yeah, you got me. I'm an Avatar too! And Korra's my next life.

Your next... life? That must mean she's from the future. Have you asked her what it's like?

Well... she is from the future, yeah! And I have learned a little of what it's like. But most of what I've heard is from my granddaughter.

Oh! Is she here, too? [ The mountains are getting steadily closer. ]

Yep! Her name's Ikki! [He grins as he looks forward again while letting Appa guide them there.] I'm sure you'll run into her eventually and she'll like you!

I'll look around for her!

[ The mountains are below them and Twilight peers down to look for some interesting caves or paths to explore. ] They're bigger than they look from a distance, aren't they?

We'll see who finds who first.

[He chuckles.]

Yeah, they really are! Isn't it great? [And he brings Appa down towards a ledge big enough to land on.]

There's got to be tons of caves and things to explore in here! Maybe dragons, too! [ She lands next to Appa and peers around, trying to figure out where to go first. ]

Definitely lots to explore! [He slides down Appa.] But I don't think there are any dragons aside from Draco. He lives by the hot springs.
