Hey! It's the solstice today, right? Has anyone checked to see if that door in the tunnel opened by itself yet? In my experience, those kinds of things tend to happen on this day!

But, other than that? I'm really glad that it's winter! What are your favorite things to do in the snow and for the winter? I want to have as much fun as I can with the snow today, so let me know!

[And Mordecai the elf chimes in with a "Snowmen are my favorite!"]

[And so the fourteen year old monk spends a portion of the afternoon playing in the snow while following suggestions from his elf. Feel free to join him during light-hearted shenanigans. For most of them, he's even wearing a funny hoodie hat. And he'll also seek out Toph at some point to consult her on something. Or...

You can catch him while or after meditating. At a certain point of day, when the sun is in the right point in the sky (and his elf is taking a nap). Aang is practicing some type of deep, deep meditation. You might even think he's fallen asleep, with the goofy hoodie hat slumping off of his head. Until he opens his eyes, and...



glowing eyes. His elf is startled into awakeness and proceeds to hide.]

Solstice..? [ madoka is not the brightest, okay, just average, so she hums for a few moments as she seemingly tries to think of what it means. ]

.. What's that, Aang-san? I feel like I've heard of it before..

The solstice is a really special day which is the shortest because of the way the sun's positioned to the sky! It's also when the line between the natural world and the Spirit World is at its weakest!

Oh, so it's one of those days in winter when it stays dark outside for really long! [ she nods to herself - that part's easy to understand. ] .. What's the Spirit World though? Is that.. um.. the afterlife?

In a way, but not exactly. Where I come from, the Spirit World is where all the spirits live who govern over our world. Certain people's spirits can end up there as their afterlife... but I don't know if all people do.

Only certain people? But then who decides who gets to go there or not..?

I don't know. I only of special people who end up in the spirit world. People who... who exchange their lives to the spirits. Or who... are part of the Avatar Cycle.

.. That sounds really complicated.. [ That's her way of saying that she doesn't get it, yet is too polite to fully ask about it. ]

But.. I-I guess there's a lot of things about other worlds I don't get yet.

It is kind of complicated. Sorry I don't have better answers. But if there's anything else you need explained, I'll try to help you.

I guess not! Since the Spirit World doesn't connect here. I still hope I can get better answers for you anyway. But... now that it's winter, what kinda fun activities do you like to do?

Um, I guess I don't particularly do anything special.. I like taking walks in the snow though, and I've made a snow angel before a few times, that was fun!

Hmm, I'd like to! I've been thinking about it ever since there was snow in this place, you can't do that sort of thing anytime in the year, after all.

Nope! Not at all! My schedule today's just fun, fun and more fun! [And maybe some meditation later...]

Definitely! I think I'll just go outside now and keep running around until I find you.

A.. ah, don't run around too much though! If you get too cold and can't find me, then please go back inside to warm yourself up! I.. wouldn't want you to get too cold just because of me..

Madoka! Don't worry, I'll be fine. I've been out in the cold a whole lot and I always end up alright. [Even wearing just his monk clothes in the south and north poles...] And even if I do get cold, I got firebending to heat myself up. But if you're worried about coldness, make sure you bundle yourself up too!

I will! Especially since I don't have.. um.. firebending like you do. [ that hesitation is mostly there since she's wondering what firebending is even supposed to be.. ]
