Hey! It's the solstice today, right? Has anyone checked to see if that door in the tunnel opened by itself yet? In my experience, those kinds of things tend to happen on this day!

But, other than that? I'm really glad that it's winter! What are your favorite things to do in the snow and for the winter? I want to have as much fun as I can with the snow today, so let me know!

[And Mordecai the elf chimes in with a "Snowmen are my favorite!"]

[And so the fourteen year old monk spends a portion of the afternoon playing in the snow while following suggestions from his elf. Feel free to join him during light-hearted shenanigans. For most of them, he's even wearing a funny hoodie hat. And he'll also seek out Toph at some point to consult her on something. Or...

You can catch him while or after meditating. At a certain point of day, when the sun is in the right point in the sky (and his elf is taking a nap). Aang is practicing some type of deep, deep meditation. You might even think he's fallen asleep, with the goofy hoodie hat slumping off of his head. Until he opens his eyes, and...

Yeah, on the solstice! Lots of cool things get unlocked on solstices. That's when I got to meet Avatar Roku, and the- some secret people I met once, they had a room where hidden things got revealed with the solstice's light!

That's a good point. There aren't any holes or mirrors that get down there, unless they're hidden...

[For now, Beast has finally managed to leave the house without having the elf tag along - he thinks so anyway. But his reason for being out is still its doing; he's on his way to the item shop to find presents. He doesn't recognise Aang at first because of the hat and nearly walks into him while pondering too much.]

O-oh! Aang... s-sorry.

Yes, I bingoed! Yeah, there's been one for each of us since the other day! Well... there's none for the animals.

[And Aang's elf curiously peers into the frame.

[Wow he has it bad enough with this one sitting across from his bed he can't leave.]

[Luke had spent the better part of the day riding Hamal around, letting the enormous bantha get some exercise, while at the same time delivering wrapped presents to his friends. Aang he hadn't seen yet, but the sounds of laughter draw the Jedi and his mighty slobbery steed towards where the young monk is playing.

-thump- -thump- -thump

The bantha's footfalls make a deep impressions in the snow as Luke rides into view, wearing a santa hat with a big bag strapped to Hamal's saddle]

Solstice..? [ madoka is not the brightest, okay, just average, so she hums for a few moments as she seemingly tries to think of what it means. ]

.. What's that, Aang-san? I feel like I've heard of it before..

Ororo was just walking past when she spotted Aang. She had meditated enough times in the past to recognize what he was doing, so she paused some distance away, curious. It was strange; Aang was usually such an energetic child, seeing him so calm and deep into meditation threw her off a little...

And then his eyes open, and Ororo is greeted by glowing eyes.

Well, then. All the more reason to hang back a little and see what happens from here!

The elf starts to hum, "Joy to the world..."]

Yeah, he said we should get Christmas joy if we're nice! Do you got one, too?

I'm great! [He does a little twirl into the air as he does this, picking up snow around him.] Isn't this snow beautiful?

[Aang grins up at the Skywalker and his steed from a pile of snow.]

The solstice is a really special day which is the shortest because of the way the sun's positioned to the sky! It's also when the line between the natural world and the Spirit World is at its weakest!

There was an odd serenity to Aang. No traces of fury or outrage. He stared forward for a moment and slowly started to rise into the air - with just bits of buckling, as if he were re-learning how to control his body. And as he rose to a stable position in the air, some of the snow in the ground beneath him started to swirl around lightly.

Well enough! Out and about to enjoy the weather, I see.

Genuinely curious but not wanting to disturb him, Ororo keeps her distance, observing the way he lifts off of the ground, monitoring the shift in the wind and the swirling of the elements around him. The glowing eyes are almost forgotten in the face of feeling the thrum of power around him.

Oh, so it's one of those days in winter when it stays dark outside for really long! [ she nods to herself - that part's easy to understand. ] .. What's the Spirit World though? Is that.. um.. the afterlife?
