[It's... working, maybe?

But there's some odd twitch in his nose, and his mouth opens slightly. Just a random twitch, detecting something, or... something more?]

[Sneak. Sneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeak.

She quietly opens the front door.]

AH-

ACHOO!

[And that bald nomad is being propelled backwards- right for the front door.]

[Well, what with Katara's back being to the door--]

Oomph!

[And down she goes!]

[That was a person he went into alright. He bumped into both the person and the door before tumbling down to the ground, presumably ending up sprawled next to Katara.]

Ow... S-sorry! [And then he blinks to get a look at who he bowled into.] Katara?

Ow...

[She sat up slowly, the shock of the mild physical pain on top of the grief she'd shed that day wringing some tears from her eyes. She quickly wipes them away.]

Sorry. [He found himself repeating as he tried clambering to his feet, while rubbing a sore part of his head with one hand.] Are you okay, Katara?

Yeah... I'm fine.

[She came slowly to her feet.]

[He nods as he stands himself up with as much grace as he can still manage and holds out a hand to help her up.]

You were gone for a while. [He says plainly.]

[She takes his hand.]

I know. I'm sorry.

[He'll help to pull her up and then slide his hand off slowly.]

It's okay, Katara. Really. I... I know there must be a lot going on out there.

[Katara was very quiet, and though she'd cleaned her face, it might be possible for Aang to discern the tell-tail signs of tears.]

Yes. [She just wanted to try and sleep, now.] Was there something you wanted to talk about, Aang? How are you feeling?

[Yeah... they stick out clearly. He looks on in concern, uncertain about how to proceed.]

I'm... I don't feel as bad as before. And... I just wanted to talk about s-some of the things that happened, and... [Tell you more bad news.] It's okay. It can wait.

Are you sure?

I'm... I don't know. There are things that... Maybe you should know. But you must have heard so much bad news already.

That's okay, Aang. If you need to talk, I can listen.

[He pauses for a moment in thought. Hoping he's not being weak.]

Let's sit down first.

[Katara swallows hard and moves first to shut the door behind them.]

Okay.

[Aang goes to seat himself at the table.]

Would it be okay if you told me... some of the things you know already? [So that none of his news can be repeats.]

[Katara moves to join him.]

I heard about the virus. I know that... [her face was almost pale] people have died.

[He gives a quiet nod, looking at the table.]

It's horrible. I couldn't stand facing... the people who were infected. Especially when... when they were people I know. [He glances up towards her.] Katara, one of the people who got infected... It's Robin. But he's not... The last I know, the other Robin is... He's watching over him.

[Katara looked down, her hands clenching into fists at her side.]

I see. That's terrible. I'm sorry...

October 28 THE PROSE VIRUS

"I don't think any of us could have stopped it," he said quietly. It was what he said to himself, too, over and over, to stave off his guilt. He had to believe that he had done everything he could to Robin. As Aang glanced towards Katara with still-weary eyes, his hands lay limp atop the table, and he proceeded to re-focus his gaze on the arrows painted on his hands. He did not let himself go on further yet. He had to give Katara time to process this news first, before he went into the worse one, even though he was unsure if there even could be enough time. Part of him just wanted to keep putting it off and avoid that which he had played a part in.

Katara nodded quietly. And after a long pause, spoke, "I'm sure you did your best."

"I did," and as he said it, he believed it. He even tried calling Dick by his real name. "Now we just have to... believe in those who are still there. That they can take care of each other and- and help him. Help all of them w-who are left." The other Robin was watching him. Mia was helping to work on a cure. Shikamaru and Masaomi were protecting as many other people as possible.
