[Action]

[The day is off to a normal start for Aang, starting with airbending practice. He also spends some of the morning using airbending to play around with the leaves on the front lawn of House 56.

After school, he then spends some time cooking at the bakery. He puts together a mix of cookies, cupcakes and some fruit pies of different flavors, and anyone can pop in while he's working on that. He leaves some at the bakery and takes the rest to the Welcome Center, where he sets them up as treats for visiting New Feathers. He spends some time lingering there to do what Welcome Center-ing work there is to be done. And before heading home for dinner, he takes Appa out for a ride flying in the air over Luceti.]

[While Aang's at the Welcome Center, he sets up a video. The treats he prepared are visible on a table in the background. Those who met him during the last experiment can probably pick up over the video that he now looks 15-ish rather than 12, although it's easier to tell the difference in person.]

Hello. How is everyone? It's Aang here, and I've got a few things I wanted to say. First of all, isn't it great that it's autumn now? That's like the best time of the year! Does anyone know any fun things you like to do in autumn? I'd like to try out all kinds of new things.

I... also wanted to say something about the way I was a few weeks ago. When I was littler again. I lied and told some of you I wasn't the Avatar, but I really am. I'm sorry about that. [He pauses for a moment.] Other than that... I left some treats out in the Welcome Center to help greet any New Feathers! If you have any questions about this place, one of us there will do our best to help you. I know lots of things can be confusing and unfamiliar in this place. Come to think of it... Is it just me, or is this New Feather cycle going on longer than usual?

You say that like it's not easy as pie for you to make some warmth!

It's easy, but no one wants to do that all the time!

Well we can both firebend, but we can take turns! Then it won't be so bad. And it's not bad with jackets and hats and stuff. [Of course, Aang apparently had no problem hanging out both polar extremes of the world wearing just his monk robes.] You're just being fussy.

[Zuko just gives Aang a look. They can't spend all fall and winter keeping everyone warm. That's just silly.]

I do say so! You've got to at least try some fun autumny stuff before you can grumble about it. Who knows? You just might catch yourself having fun!

And what sort of "fun autumny stuff" are we talking about here, exactly?

Well, we could... collect leaves and play around with them! And even just walking through nature is great this time of year.

You want to play around in leaves?

[Is this an airbender thing?]

And with them! There's plenty of neat training exercises you could do with leaves, too.

"Neat", huh?

That just doesn't sound all that exciting, Aang.

Well maybe it'll look exciting! Come to think of it, you never tried the air gates, did you?

The air gates?

Yeah, the air gates! I can't believe we forgot to tell you about them! They're a special airbending instruction tool. Ikki had a friend of ours who isn't here anymore build some from us! They're not far from the house, and they're really fun.

If they're for airbenders, then what am I supposed to do with them?

[He'd hate to accidentally burn them.]

They're not just for airbenders. You can use them if even if you can't bend at all. [Just don't get as bad as Korra did and being a firebender shouldn't be an issue.] One of us just has to use airbending to move the gates - they're like a bunch of spinning doors! Then you just gotta make your way to the other side.

So it's like a game?

[Is he just going to end up feeling silly here?]

It's a game and training! Think of it as helping you to be quick on your feet. Like an airbender!

I'll try it, but if you're just putting me through this to make me look ridiculous you're going to regret it.

I'm definitely not! [Although of course, he does think that would be amusing if he did look ridiculous.] It can be a very valuable learning exercise for any kind of person.

Just show it to me, I guess.

[He can judge from there. His uncle would probably encourage this sort of thing.]

Alright. Meet me near the house in... how's half an hour sound? [He's got to finish setting up these Welcome Center cookies after all.]

Sure. You better be there.

[And he'll be there in less time than that, because he knows how to be prompt.]

[He'll be there a little late - riding his air scooter but cheerily chasing a squirrel around. He has yet to notice Zuko.]

[FINE, IGNORE HIM. Zuko will stand with his arms crossed, waiting patiently for Aang to stop being... Aang.]

[Aang notices Zuko... right as the squirrel is running straight for the fire lord. Does he want to scale him?]
