Book 1: Fresh Water [Video]

[Aang is peering into the journal so his face takes up almost the entire screen. He begins shouting into the book as abruptly as his image appears]

Hey! What am I doing here? I'm Aang! I'm an Airbender. Does anyone know what's going on here? I can't find my friends, my clothes or any of my stuff! I thought I was on my sky bison with everyone else going to see the Earth King. Now I'm here. Have anyone of you book people seen anyone I know?

[Aang has pulled away from the journal but continues talking as he sits in a patch of grass.]

This is a really weird place. But kinda peaceful. Definitely not weird enough to be the Spirit World. What is going on here?? And... have I always had these wings?

[Aang lifts up the book with one hand, squinting and examining it like some foreign object. This results in the picture showing his quizzical face from a skewed angle.]

Man, I bet, but it sounds like that training was all worth it.

[He laughs.]

Earth's not really my strong point, but my friend Terra knows a few earth-based moves.

It definitely was... I can do plenty of cool things!

I know what you mean. Earth was the hardest element for me to learn, since it's the opposite of air. Maybe it's the same for you. Luckily one of my friends is Toph, the best Earthbender in the world, and she forced me to learn.

Oh, I remember Toph! She was here a while back and started giving manliness lessons.

[It was... definitely an experience.]

But I can see why she'd be so good at it. Using earth probably takes tons of strength and guts.

That sounds just like something Toph would do!

Yeah, she's a real natural at it. I had to really plant my feet in the ground to learn Earthbending from her.

Makes sense to me! I bet with that kinda power, it'd be easy to get knocked around.

That's right! It's like I can still feel the bruises.

Man, I know how that goes. Some of my old training sessions knocked the stuffing right outta me.
