Book 8: Stay Flaming, Next Life [Video/Action]

[It seemed like a normal day for the 14-year old Avatar until airbending training came to an end with no sign of Korra. There were any number of reasons for her absence - she didn't exactly have a reputation for punctuality - but he couldn't help but worry. He started towards the other Avatar House to check, only to find Bolin, now the sole resident of the house. And there was only one conclusion: Korra, his reincarnation, had gone back home, to whatever world it was he and his friends would help to shape in the future.

He addressed the journals with a light smile, and he tried not to sound solemn.]

Hi, everyone. It's me, Aang. I just wanted to let you all know that Korra's gone back home. From what I know... she's going to be fine and become a great Avatar. And she's gonna save a lot of people, including my family. But aside from all that, while she was here, she was... funny and tough and nice and a great friend. [A little tougher than he expected. But she was also a living not-so-welcome reminder of his own mortality, due to being his next life. He still regretted not getting the chance to talk over some issues with her.]

I feel grateful to her, and I hope you all remember her, too.

[Aang will spend time at the item shop and the clothing shop getting some manner of materials for this "Halloween" thing that Ikki keeps talking about. Feel free to run into him; he'll be collecting large quantities of red and blue materials piecemeal to make a costume for Appa that looks like the "Superman" person that Katie told him about. He'll also be trying to put together a Robin costume for himself.]

Wait you're actually a grandpa? It feels weird calling you that then.
tenminutes: (Ohoho a good gun.)

Future grandpa, then. It sounds like a bad sci-fi comedy.
tenminutes: (Grumpbutt mode.)

Science-fiction. It's like, robots and futuristic stuff and spaceships and aliens.

I guess most of that's not as fiction-seeming now.

But she's from the future! Which is time travel, which is sci-fi. Or sci-now, I guess. Sci-fu?
tenminutes: (Yes the Creep. T-rex arms and all.)

No, that's like actual science. Cyro-something freezing.
tenminutes: (You don't understand caffeine needs.)

It's probably a combo of magic and science, actually. I don't know that on the cellular level freezing would've been capable without some kind of crazy magic going on. [ Randomly sounding smart she is. It happens sometimes. She doesn't actually know much about what she's talking about, but she likes to sound like she does. Just like with "atomic restructuring" as she named it and came up with an explanation for it based on what she thought probably was happening. ]
tenminutes: (Yandere look like they have fun!)

I don't know, bending's kind of an equivalent of elemental magic, isn't it? At least in other peoples' worlds. It's all fiction in mine.
tenminutes: (You didn't believe me.)

[ She shakes her head. ] Not in the world of the living, anyway. The afterlife is a little different, but it's still not magic. There's atomic restructuring, which is something we can do only in the afterlife that involves changing the atomic structure of molecules to be something that we've got a good memory of, and then the Angel Player program that Kanade-chan used.. [ A pause. ] There's hypnotism that's possible in the afterlife too. But none of it's really magic.
tenminutes: (I can't tell you what it is though.)

No, that's Naoi's thing. He could though, yeah. It's ridiculously powerful too.
tenminutes: (I'm the closest thing to a bad guy here.)

Usually he just does stupid stuff like make Hinata believe that he's in love with toilet paper or things like that with it. He used to use it for less frivolous things, but it's a lot better this way for everyone.
tenminutes: (Blllllllp!)

It's not anymore and that's what matters. He's on my side now, as much as he grumbles about it.

At least he's your friend now. Naoi's still a jerkface, he's just a more tolerable jerkface.
