Book 7: Sands of Time [Action/Video]
[Action]
[As Aang checked the journal that morning, to make sure things were fine around the village, the one thing that caught his eye wound up being the date. There it was, a "19". It stuck in his head because of when he had first opened the journal. There had been a 19 there, too. That meant one thing. Another month had passed since he had arrived here. Another month kept from home and the future he was both anticipating and dreading. If Aang felt like doing the math, he would realize it's been half a year now, since he was last home. Half a year of various trials and tribulations, friendships that were built up, damaged and mended, love that was questioned and unexpected sources of both comfort and hurt. He even came to known that the crisis he left back home would be resolved relatively peacefully... but he also learned more, much more than he wanted to know about his future. There was still joy to be found in the return of Ikki, even if it was accompanied by a dread for her wellbeing. He takes a moment to flip back to that first entry out of curiosity... and snaps it shut when he hears himself saying the word "Sweetie".
With just a moment more of reflection, he got out of bed, ready to continue doing his thing until he could bring his friends back home, to whatever futures truly awaited them.
And so Aang goes through his daily life. The fourteen year old monk starts off his day with training; firebending with Zuko while the grandkids are asleep. And once they're awake, it's time for airbending practice. With that over, he goes through daily errands. One can easily run into him while he's walking around the village and forest. Or he could be found at the Welcome Center where he... organizes... things and is ready to answer questions from New Feathers. And he will spend part of the day in the library seeking a new book to read. Such is the life of the Avatar. Or perhaps he could be caught while taking his sky bison out for a ride. As usual, he eats dinner at home and retires fairly early in the night. But sometime in the evening, he addresses the journals.]

Hi, everyone! It's me, Aang, again. I guess you can say I'm feeling better this month. Who would have thought Ikki'd be back so soon? And hey, is anyone else excited for autumn? That's the season for us airbenders! It's fun to watch all the leaves turn different colors, and then we can use the leaves for practice and for games! Not to mention that the air always feels just right this time of year. Does anyone else have any fun things that they like do around this time of year? And hey, let me know if you find any trees that have already changed colors!
...Oh yeah, and school should be starting sometime soon, I think! I'm real excited!

There aren't many holidays during this time of year back home either, save for harvest festivals and things on various farming worlds. The end of the growing season and all.
That makes sense! I guess most worlds just do similar things this time of year.
Its interesting though, thinking about holidays from other worlds, the cultural variety and all.
It really is! I wouldn't mind learning a lot more about different kinds of holidays. Do you know about any other neat ones from outer space?
[Luke's player groaned...but the Jedi himself just grinned]
One of particular note is Wookie Life Day, though. Its a day where friends and family get together and exchange presents. It happens roughly around the same time as Christmas, midwinter.
Oh! Right, Wookies. They're...actually I'll send you a picture of one.
[Luke had actually taken the time to take photos of Chewie with Adele's laptop and the disc copies of Star Wars he'd been given, just so he could explain what a wookie was. It comes up all the time. So...have a photo of the coolest wookie around, Aang]
And... wow! He looks like a really neat creature. Look at all that fur!
Well, thats just my friend, Chewbacca. Wookies are a whole species.
They are, huh? They're real furry like Appa but they walk like people! Chewbacca must be a nice friend!
[video] Luke keeps missing chances to meet Appa...
[Luke grins]
Chewie's the best friend I guy could ask for. He's a genius with machines, too. One of the smartest people I've ever met.
Who's Appa?
[video] Now that's Approblem
And you didn't meet Appa yet? He's my pet sky bison! All my people get sky bison to act as their companions for life! He's like my best friend - here!
[Aang fiddles with the journal and holds it out the window moments later, so that the video feed catches Appa napping on the lawn in the sunlight.]
[video] APPACEPTION!
[Luke peers at the journal and he grins]
Wow, Appa, you said? That's an amazing looking creature. Does...he fly, like his name suggests? And is he friendly?
But yeah Aang flips the journal back to himself.]
You think so? Is it really that hectic at your home?
Thanks! He can and he is! He's the friendliest creature in the world, and we all rode him when we used to travel back home.
Chewie isn't dead at home yet! Another 16 years at least...]Yea, we've been at war for almost 15 years now.
He certainly looks friendly, like Hamal, my bantha. Except, Hamal can't fly. How...does Appa fly? Do you know?
Still he will be! He will be, sob...]I'm sorry. I didn't realize you still had a war going on. [He had endured war for less than a year himself, not counting the war in Luceti. He's not sure how he'd be able to live with war prolonged for that long.]
Yeah! He Airbends with his tail to fly!
[video] Saw that super strikethrough =p
Really? So, Appa is an airbender like you? Can he fly fast?
[video] you saw nothing
Yeah, he can when he wants to. But he usually likes to move at a slower pace. The sky bison were actually the original airbenders.

Are there many Sky Bison in your world?
[video] Look? Or Luke?
[video] ...I will take my answer to the grave!
