[The 14-year old monk looks into the video feed with a friendly smile during a break in the rainfall. He's standing on the lawn of House 57, and Appa is chewing down on some hay in the background.]

Hey, everyone! It's me, Aang. It's been a while since I really tried talking to everyone through the book, so I thought I'd give it another try. After all, I really like to make more friends, and it seems like something I should do more anyway now that I work at the Welcome Center! And... in case you only know me from during shifts or something, you should know that I'm not a crimefighter, a little kid or an old man, and right now I'm kinda sick of tea. I'm something that's called an Airbender and the Avatar.

I also want to introduce you to this guy, Appa. He's my sky bison. Say hello, Appa! [Aang moves to the side briefly while Appa gives a lazy bellow.] Isn't he great? So... this is what I have in mind. I wanna take Appa out more and do what I can to explore this place when I have time. And if any of you want, whether I already know you or not, you're free to join me and help me find places to explore. I think I'll do these kinds of adventures throughout the whole week, especially if the weather clears up, so if you wanna come, let me know when!

[There's some chittering noises as a lemur pops out of Aang's sleeve.] You can come too, Momo!

[So throughout the week, Aang rides Appa around the enclosure in search of secrets, adventures and such. Before he sets off, Aang stops by the fountain in the plaza with Appa to wait for any traveling companion. He also could be found running random errands at the Welcome Center.

Also, Appa may be familiar to some because of his fur. Appa arrived back in May, and especially in the time following that, he would have been shedding some fur with the coming of summer. So characters are free to have recognize that fur having been dropped throughout Luceti during his flights.]

[But Appa draws closer... to take a sniff and lick at him.]

[It is only a few seconds of feeling the breath on his fur before getting that huge tongue all over him.

It has been years since Beast has felt something lick him, which was the castle dog Sultan, when he was... not a footstool. And he didn't have all this fur at that time, so this... feels really strange. Kind of gross, actually. And really wet.]

You're friends now. How do you like him, Beast?

["You're friends now." That must be the fastest-starting friendship he's received yet.]

H-he's, uh... he's... [Big. Wet. Strange.] Nice.

Great! I'm glad you love him. Appa here's one of my oldest friends.

[After the licking, he takes the time to step back to get a better look at Aang's friend.] He... h-he... "flies"? [Where are the wings? Maybe it's just something in the name.]

Yep! Show him, Appa! [Appa stares at him.] Yip yip?

[Appa growls and starts to flap his tail, hovering in front of Beast.]

[Oh mon Dieu... he did not think Aang would actually say he could. His eyes are really widening now. How does he do that with his tail? He's obviously very heavy...]

[And Appa lazily flops down on the ground.]

Pretty cool, huh? I can take you for a ride if you like.

A... a-a ride? [That doesn't mean what he thinks it means, does it...?]

Yeah! You know... through the air! It's really fun!

I-in the air? [But he's never been in the air!] B-but, but I...

Oh, sorry. It's... it's okay if you're scared of flying. You don't have to ride him.

N-n-no, I... I-I'm not scared!

I... I-I just haven't... f-flown... before.

Well, it's easy. [He goes next to Beast and puts an arm on his shoulder, trying not to be weirded out by how furry it is.] You'll be a passenger, so you won't really have to do anything except to sit tight.

R... really? A... a-alright... [He's still very much unsure about this, but he can't help but be curious just a little...]

[And Aang's just excited. Appa is now right next to Beast.]

Great! Do you need help getting onto his back?

I... [Just... staring again right now. He will never get used to how big this thing is. But he'll do his best to hoist himself up - it shouldn't be too difficult with the fur, he thinks, but he's not thinking about the need to use claws...]

[That definitely wasn't a finished sentence. But Aang patiently watches Beast's attempt to clamber on, thinking Appa will be just fine.]

[The task isn't too easy, but Beast manages to grab onto a few clumps of fur and finally ends up on Appa's back. Looking around... he's much higher than he thought.]
