Book 5: Spirits of Adventure [Video/Action]

[The 14-year old monk looks into the video feed with a friendly smile during a break in the rainfall. He's standing on the lawn of House 57, and Appa is chewing down on some hay in the background.]

Hey, everyone! It's me, Aang. It's been a while since I really tried talking to everyone through the book, so I thought I'd give it another try. After all, I really like to make more friends, and it seems like something I should do more anyway now that I work at the Welcome Center! And... in case you only know me from during shifts or something, you should know that I'm not a crimefighter, a little kid or an old man, and right now I'm kinda sick of tea. I'm something that's called an Airbender and the Avatar.

I also want to introduce you to this guy, Appa. He's my sky bison. Say hello, Appa! [Aang moves to the side briefly while Appa gives a lazy bellow.] Isn't he great? So... this is what I have in mind. I wanna take Appa out more and do what I can to explore this place when I have time. And if any of you want, whether I already know you or not, you're free to join me and help me find places to explore. I think I'll do these kinds of adventures throughout the whole week, especially if the weather clears up, so if you wanna come, let me know when!

[There's some chittering noises as a lemur pops out of Aang's sleeve.] You can come too, Momo!

[Action]

[So throughout the week, Aang rides Appa around the enclosure in search of secrets, adventures and such. Before he sets off, Aang stops by the fountain in the plaza with Appa to wait for any traveling companion. He also could be found running random errands at the Welcome Center.

Also, Appa may be familiar to some because of his fur. Appa arrived back in May, and especially in the time following that, he would have been shedding some fur with the coming of summer. So characters are free to have recognize that fur having been dropped throughout Luceti during his flights.]

[Aang waves to Masaomi and Linda, but he starts to frown slightly at what he says.]

That's right, Appa's not a Pokemon. And he's real peaceful like me. [Flashback to Appa biting Lon Feng and tossing him into the lake.] ...Most of the time.

But for something this big to fly, he's got to have some powers akin to one. Still! Battling's in the genetics of a pokemon, if he's a more amicable sort, I'm not going to press that. [As he says this though he's glancing at the mouse on his shoulder. Who is pouting]

He just knows some Airbending, but he mostly uses it just to get around. He's not a fighter.

[He observes Linda's pout, while Appa just looks on curiously on this whole scene.] Sorry, Linda. Appa's a different kind of playmate.

Oh, like his owner, right? [Thumbs up. Linda is still pouting, but Masaomi seems cooperative, at least]

Yep! The sky bison have always been the companions of my people. They're the original Airbenders, and I've been with Appa since I was six.

[generalflirt]

Hooooh, so I guess it's more like he domesticated you than anything.

[With Linda on his shoulder he takes the last few steps, boldly, to go out and tap/pat it on the head.

[Appa slumps in place to let the patting occur, watching Masaomi and his strange friend curiously and taking a few sniffs. While Aang chuckles.]

You could say that! We'd be pretty lost without our bison.

[generalflirt]

Hmmm. And he can fly, right? [Pet, pet. And he does that. Linda now is going to leap onto his head, actually, Appa's]

[Appa's not bothered by the new presence on his head; Momo's there often enough.]

Yeah! He - [Appa chooses now to lick Masaomi, and Aang laughs a little before breaking back into his sentence.] He took us all over the world back home.

[generalflirt]

[Ew this is totally going to smell. /unsure But no, he just sort of stands there because how could he resist. Uh. Wow]

Aah, then he's a very impressive flier, at that.

Well they don't call him a sky bison for nothing. And that means now you're his friend too.

[generalflirt]

Alright, then let's fly! [With a chortle. He liked flying on Pilo, and he's always wanted to make up for that on some other large animal. Even if Appa is even bigger than Pilo]

Sure, you're welcome to go for a ride! Come on board!

[He flips up onto Appa's back and smiles towards Linda.]

[generalflirt]

Climbing on would be a thing. He leaps to a bench and then swigs on a lamppost before landing in the sattle all stylish like]

[You know what, Masaomi? That was pretty impressive. Aang gives some applause before sliding towards Appa's head.]

Really nice!

[generalflirt]

[Linda Magnet Rises (warning: as this is making a small magnetic field and it was on Appa's head, it might make him feel some vertigo for a moment despite just standing/sitting there) to float over to Masaomi and sit next to him]

Why thank you, I do try~

[Appa does have a little bit of dizziness and a slight stumble. Aang pats the bison's head, unaware of the cause.]

You okay there, buddy? Are you ready to take off?

[generalflirt]

[Masaomi, who is, simply laughs sheepishly. He brushes Linda behind her ears, sitting back here]

[He waits a moment until he's sure Appa's fine again, before he grabs the reins and turns back towards Masaomi.]

You and Linda ready?

[generalflirt]

Born ready, old bean. [With a fake posh accent. And he sort of chuckles too]

[He laughs at it.]

Heh, I'm only old if you count my time in the iceberg! But if you're ready...

Yip yip!

[And Appa takes off. Please leave trays in the upright position.]

[generalflirt]

Oh... how long was that, again? At least a lifetime, right?

[He keeps a tight hold. Linda does too, but she sways some. Weird, more unstable than expected]

One hundred years. [He flinches inwardly at specifically hearing "a lifetime".] I didn't even know the difference at first.

[generalflirt]

The world really changed that little? [...He knows it changed a lot. He knows the war happened]

There... there were changes, alright, but it took me a while to catch on. Especially since I started out by the South Pole and wasn't that familiar with the area. [Otherwise, he might have picked up on how smaller it had gotten.]
