[Aang addresses the journals before heading out that day, upon recognizing the date.]

Hey! It's the solstice today, right? Has anyone checked to see if that door in the tunnel opened by itself yet? In my experience, those kinds of things tend to happen on this day!

But, other than that? I'm really glad that it's winter! What are your favorite things to do in the snow and for the winter? I want to have as much fun as I can with the snow today, so let me know!

[And Mordecai the elf chimes in with a "Snowmen are my favorite!"]

[Action]

[And so the fourteen year old monk spends a portion of the afternoon playing in the snow while following suggestions from his elf. Feel free to join him during light-hearted shenanigans. For most of them, he's even wearing a funny hoodie hat. And he'll also seek out Toph at some point to consult her on something. Or...

You can catch him while or after meditating. At a certain point of day, when the sun is in the right point in the sky (and his elf is taking a nap). Aang is practicing some type of deep, deep meditation. You might even think he's fallen asleep, with the goofy hoodie hat slumping off of his head. Until he opens his eyes, and...

glowing eyes. His elf is startled into awakeness and proceeds to hide.]

[Suki catches up with the airbender when he's meditating, but no Avatar State yet. She doesn't say anything though because she doesn't want to scare him, so she just examines him for a moment, trying to figure out how deep into his meditation he is.]

[Pretty dang deep, sister. There's a steady breath every now and then to a certain rhythm while his mind is far beyond the surroundings. Navigating his mind, his soul, who knows where. Not seeking the cosmic energy but letting himself drift towards it aimlessly, using all of this focus and concentration to try to bypass any obstacles formed from clogged chakras. He looks oddly at peace, currently.]

[Suki smiles. Such a good little monk. She quickly leaves only to return with a blanket, which she wraps around his shoulder. Gotta keep the little guy warm! She should probably grab him something to eat too...]

[But at this point, there's more of an intensity that's visible in his concentration. The blanket seems to have little effect. Something is happening, or beginning to happen...]

[Ok. Now she steps forward.]

Aang?

[And suddenly a strong wind is picking up around them, lifting up snow as Aang's eyes open. Aglow. Aware of himself, of his surroundings, of his power. And of Suki.]

[This was actually Suki's first time dealing with Aang in the Avatar State. She couldn't help but jump back, but still totally amazed.]

...Wow.

[He remains like that for some moments, passively still as he reels in all of this power, feeling all of the elements around him, feeling them build up. And he then rises slowly, watching Suki from the corner of his eye. He's concerned with what he sees.]

[Being the first time dealing with Aang while in this state, Suki was unsure with what to do.]

Aang? Is everything alright?

[He is bursting with raw power, trying to channel cosmic energy. But he's doing so with some calmness, serenity. He's still getting the kinks of controlling this State and looks towards Suki, his dear friends, through distorted eyes. But he calls out to her in an altered voice.]

SUKI.

[Seriously Aang. This is freaky.]

Ye-yes?

[It's hard. He can think alright. It's taking all of his thought and focus to keep in control, to try out every individual movement with such high awareness of the world around him. It's more of a struggle to work out words. So he keeps his messages short and simple.]

DON'T WORRY.

IT'S ME.

[She just stares in amazement for a bit.]

This is amazing, Aang. But... is something wrong?

ALL IS WELL.

[But it's a lot. All that power, in his body. He shouldn't sustain it for long. This is just a test, after all.

He slowly begins to descend, back down to the snow, staggering slightly as he reaches the ground.]

AANG! [She rushes to him to catch him.]

Aang? Are you okay?

[The glow dies down, and he collapses into Suki's arms as he returns to normal. He moans slightly, exhausted by just this much time in the State, but he doesn't speak yet. He has to regain his bearings.]

[She holds onto him, a gently hand placed against his cheek.] Aang? Aang, can you hear me?

[He squints and mutters quietly.]

Y-yeah. Just... gimme a second.

Of course. Don't push yourself, alright?

[He nods and waits a moment, pulling the blanket that Suki had left over him, while regaining his strength.]

Did you want me to get you anything?

Could I please have a glass of water?

Of course. I'll be right back.

[Give her some time, but she returns with some water.] Here.

[He's feeling a lot more coherent now; and he moreso as he drinks the water, smiling appreciatively.]

Thanks, Suki. That was really exhausting.

The Avatar State is still so amazing. [And scary, actually.] What happened? Were you trying to get into it?
