[Aang addresses the journals before heading out that day, upon recognizing the date.]

Hey! It's the solstice today, right? Has anyone checked to see if that door in the tunnel opened by itself yet? In my experience, those kinds of things tend to happen on this day!

But, other than that? I'm really glad that it's winter! What are your favorite things to do in the snow and for the winter? I want to have as much fun as I can with the snow today, so let me know!

[And Mordecai the elf chimes in with a "Snowmen are my favorite!"]

[And so the fourteen year old monk spends a portion of the afternoon playing in the snow while following suggestions from his elf. Feel free to join him during light-hearted shenanigans. For most of them, he's even wearing a funny hoodie hat. And he'll also seek out Toph at some point to consult her on something. Or...

You can catch him while or after meditating. At a certain point of day, when the sun is in the right point in the sky (and his elf is taking a nap). Aang is practicing some type of deep, deep meditation. You might even think he's fallen asleep, with the goofy hoodie hat slumping off of his head. Until he opens his eyes, and...

glowing eyes. His elf is startled into awakeness and proceeds to hide.]

[Aang's elf shakes his head in disapproval.]

They are kinda weird like that. I had to ask this guy here before he told me his name's Mordecai.

Yeah... I guess our minds are pretty great! As long as you're okay with it... It's just not as fancy as this one. But I can take you back by my house and get it for you!

Sure.

[He pats the saddle]

Want a ride? Hamal won't mind.

[Aang may have had plenty of ways to get around, but he'll never say no to a new one that involves riding an animal.]

Sure thing! Thanks! [And he air hops his way onto the saddle with an eager smile.]

[And off they go!]

Seems he's pretty excited. This is Hamal's first trip into the village, and I don't know if I mentioned but bantha generally love people.

If someone's gonna make demands of me, I expect them to at least tell me who they are first.

[The elf sounds so disappointed he has to go about it this way, but he gives. "It's Susan. Susan!"

Yes, that is a male voice.]

I think you might've. It's not that hard to tell, anyway. [He reaches out to stroke some of Hamal's fur.]

["But the value of helping strangers..."]

It's nice to meet you, Susan! I'm Aang!

[Well gosh, who said he wouldn't help? Most of the elf's requests have been impossible for him to do from here, is all.

He does lower his journal without a word though, so the elf has better access to it, missing his surprise at the action. He quickly moves on, however, asking what Christmas things Aang and Mordecai have already done.]

[ oh, that's an easier topic, at least. ]

Um, I guess I don't particularly do anything special.. I like taking walks in the snow though, and I've made a snow angel before a few times, that was fun!

No, not really.

[He pats the bantha himself, and Hamal grumbles a bit in happiness. Attention he likes, that's even more obvious.]

It's automatic, the way that Ororo raises one hand and, with a flick of her wrist, calls forth a burst of wind that keeps the snow Aang had blown in her direction from actually reaching her. Belatedly, she hopes that such a shift in the wind wouldn't distract him.

That does sound like fun! Do you wanna play in the snow, Madoka?

[He chuckles at the bantha's grumbling.]

You having a good Life Day too, big guy?

Oh! We made a bunch of decorations, and we gave out candy and everything, plus we made snowmen!

[And Moredcai nods along, seeming somewhat exhausted. It seems the energy of Aang (and likely Ikki as well) is a bit much even for the elf.]

He does feel it. A shift in the wind. Being in this state gives him such a higher awareness that it's almost distracting. As the Avatar, he could often sense all of the elements around him and feel them. And this feeling was tuned up so greatly in this state that everything around him felt alive. His head turned abruptly to face the mysterious wind, sensing that it is of unnatural origin.

Aang sees Storm through glowing eyes that have his own underneath. For the moment, he just stares at her. He knows that she's a friendly lifeform. There's no way he'd make a move against her. And he hopes to make sure that she does the same.

[Hamal grunts happily, exhaling a blast of air that sends the tassel of his holiday hat sailing into the air.

Take that as you will, Aang. ]

Hmm, I'd like to! I've been thinking about it ever since there was snow in this place, you can't do that sort of thing anytime in the year, after all.

[Aaand she swats his arm away from the microwave, promptly frowning.]

I know that, Twinkletoes! I'm just warming it up, I'm not gonna eat it!

[He waves his stung hand about.]

Oh. Then... Why? [Because... why?]

Of course! There's no reason not to play with something awesome when it's around! Where do you want to play?

[Aang laughs.]

You sure got a way with words, Hamal! And nice breath, too - just not as bendy as Appa's!

'Cause when your shoes don't have bottoms, nothing's better at the end of a cold, winter day than a microwaved pillow.

That... makes a lotta sense, really. Why aren't your feet big ice blocks by now?

Trust me, they feel that way.
