savedtheworld | Case 2: Down-to-Earth Logic [Written / Action]

Good evening, Luceti. Robin here. I've been investigating the cases of the missing day, lost possessions and misplaced people. No leads yet and no signs of any criminal activity, but I am ever vigilant, as is the original Robin. Even my own crimefighting gear went missing, and it turned up back at the item shop. Looks like people's possessions are "resetting" within this world, for unknown reasons.

I'm ready to mark this down as another case of Malnosso wrongdoing. Whatever went down yesterday, it must have been some battle. I didn't make it back to my own room... but thanks to the kind people at House 56 for giving me shelter.

[Aang has been AU'ed to the Teen Titans world, where he was taken in by Batman and raised as a second Robin. Here's some basic info. Just imagine he's wearing something more Robiny (keeping the headband/without tattoos). He does have a domino mask, but he's not wearing it, being open with his identity within Luceti.

You can run into "Robin" at any point of the night at one of many spots throughout the town, as he skulks around and tries to patrol unseen with varying degrees of success.]

I've never thought too hard about it, but that's true. With so many worlds out there, who's to say who doesn't look similar?

Exactly! I like your open-mindedness, compared to the other people I've met from your world. I mean, I feel bad about your Avatar going missing, and I'm trying to see if he's still in this world somewhere, but it's refreshing to not be accused of being someone I'm not.

Oh, no, no- I understand completely! I've been accused of being someone I'm not a few times already. It's very possible that we aren't these people or that other people are remembering things wrong.

[...A beat] ...I personally think your resemblance to our Aang is too uncanny to dismiss entirely though.

Fair enough. At least you're entertaining both possibilities. You're also having lookalike problems? Something weird is going on here, I know that much.

Yeah... something weird is really going on. Sokka doesn't remember me, Katara does [thank everything], but perhaps in place of meee... Sokka remembers someone named Winry being there. Meanwhile, I only knew a Winry from here. Not from our world at all.

Hm. That could also warrant investigation. This is turning out to be like some odd mix of memory tampering and dopplegangers.

[If this Masaomi know Occam's Razor, he would reference it. As it is, he nods] Either way, as a friend if mine would put, it's troublesome.

Troublesome, headache-inducing, whichever word fits the best. And of course, the Malnosso's nature makes this place like a nightmare for the investigative process. No one really to interrogate, nothing that can be hacked and they themselves being generally out of our reach. Trying to sort out these patterns is pretty much the only thing I can do.

[A pause and a shift. He smiles, warmly]

Well, something tells me you have a talent for dealing with bad people anyway.

[The smile and compliment don't really phase him.]

Yeah, the crimefighting costume should be just a bit of a hint in that direction.

...Oh that's what it's for?

Yeah. I guess it's harder to come across that way in the context of this world. Such costumes are pretty weird, yes, but they're like standard uniforms for the crime and crimefighting community back home.

I'm curious, is there a reason why that is?

Good question. I guess the practice kinda started as a mix of people hiding their secret identities with most of them having a bit of a flair for drama. Eventually, it's just kinda accepted as normal. My home... has a lot of crummy things. But there's also a whole lot of weirdness too, that we just have to shrug and accept as normal.

It's Robin, right? You're surprisingly candid about it all.

Right, Robin. What can I say? I'm encouraged by my "boss" to be as serious as I can, but that doesn't mean I have to accept everything in my world as normal. The other Robin himself has plenty of stories about weird villains and aliens that he confronts with his team.

Oh, the other Robin has a team? And you work with just the boss, or do you have one too?

Yeah, it's kind of a successorship thing. He's a little older than me, so he went out on his own and wound up working with a group of heroes around his age. They're called the Teen Titans. I know Robin can seem kind of... intense sometimes, especially here, but he's more of a fun guy when's around them.

As for me, I'm still sidekicking with the boss. Guess I haven't picked up a rebellious teenage streak yet.

[Okay these are a lot of foreign terms but he thinks he understands it. He nods]

But you're already talented, right?

Yeah. You have to be in order to fight crime. Been learning all kinds of martial arts and such. Not near a master level in most areas, to be honest.

Hoooh. Think you should show me some of your moves?

Don't see any reason why not to. Especially with a lack of actual losers to use said moves on. What should we start? Maybe some judo.

[With a sly little smile. He's not sure if Aang'll just demonstrate or want a spar or something, but he rolls his shoulders either way]

[He gives an arrogant smirk and goes directly into a basic judo moves, considering it's relatively harmless, and the people from that Avatar's world seem to be accustomed to worse. He tries to grip the sleeve of Masaomi's right arm with his left and his shirt near his left shoulder with his right hand, then he moves forward to try to sweep through Masaomi's left leg with his right one, which would knock him over.]

[Huh. He see through the movement very quickly (or well, he concludes one of three possibilities of where it goes), actually, but he lets Aang get both of the grips more so he can see how it goes anyway. And... knocked over. Wow, that was actually pretty cool- And where to now?]
