"Bootlicked?" [Pauses a little bewildered and then chuckles.] Boot legged! It means smuggled matey.

[Eyes glint mischievously.] Aye, there's a decent living to be made from smuggled booze, eh. Gotta be careful though, some idiots don't know what they're doing when they brew and they can accidentally make poisons instead.

[Despite the inherit bad nature of that, Marco just seems pretty excited about the whole idea.]

Money. If you smuggle, you avoid paying taxes.

Mah, and the government frowns on dealing with pirates, so if you're a big supplier to pirates... there's a lot of money to be had from that, but you can't let the marines know what you're up to.

Not necessarily. A little booze is good for your liver and system, but it can be hard to keep from going overboard, eh.

Besides marines are annoying and should be thwarted just on principle.

Ah, you could probably handle a little now, but no... [Shakes his head.] I wouldn't recommend it. It's harder to know your limits the first few times, and it's better once your body stops growing because it has a stronger effect on kids.

You know how medicine works differently on kids? It's like that. [Rubs the back of his neck.] Of course saying that usually makes people want to try it more, but drinking alcohol doesn't make you an adult. If anything, it makes a lot of adults feel like a kid again, so if you already do, what would be the point, right?

Mind you, Ace has been an alcoholic since he was ten, but Ace isn't a role model. If you do want to try some though, I can help you get a taste, but I doubt you'd like it. Have you ever tried straight up vinegar or something fermented?

My family's all pirates, so there are... a lot of alcoholics among us. My father especially. There's really something to be said for not drinking sometimes, eh?

Yeah, I guess so. So pirates have a lot of alcohol... But yeah. Sometimes drinking weird things can just make people silly! It's better to watch.
