Book 5: Spirits of Adventure [Video/Action]

[The 14-year old monk looks into the video feed with a friendly smile during a break in the rainfall. He's standing on the lawn of House 57, and Appa is chewing down on some hay in the background.]

Hey, everyone! It's me, Aang. It's been a while since I really tried talking to everyone through the book, so I thought I'd give it another try. After all, I really like to make more friends, and it seems like something I should do more anyway now that I work at the Welcome Center! And... in case you only know me from during shifts or something, you should know that I'm not a crimefighter, a little kid or an old man, and right now I'm kinda sick of tea. I'm something that's called an Airbender and the Avatar.

I also want to introduce you to this guy, Appa. He's my sky bison. Say hello, Appa! [Aang moves to the side briefly while Appa gives a lazy bellow.] Isn't he great? So... this is what I have in mind. I wanna take Appa out more and do what I can to explore this place when I have time. And if any of you want, whether I already know you or not, you're free to join me and help me find places to explore. I think I'll do these kinds of adventures throughout the whole week, especially if the weather clears up, so if you wanna come, let me know when!

[There's some chittering noises as a lemur pops out of Aang's sleeve.] You can come too, Momo!

[So throughout the week, Aang rides Appa around the enclosure in search of secrets, adventures and such. Before he sets off, Aang stops by the fountain in the plaza with Appa to wait for any traveling companion. He also could be found running random errands at the Welcome Center.

Also, Appa may be familiar to some because of his fur. Appa arrived back in May, and especially in the time following that, he would have been shedding some fur with the coming of summer. So characters are free to have recognize that fur having been dropped throughout Luceti during his flights.]

[Sky bison? That means a bison in the sky! Maybe it flies! Gold likes flying in the air! It's been a long time since he's had the chance, not since he's been in his own world, so you can bet he's waiting at the fountain for an adventure.

...He probably should have said something first, but details. He's too impatient for that.]

[Aang's touching down at the fountain with Appa after another trip and notices someone familiar for a moment. That's the Pokemon trainer... Gold. He seems like a nice guy - has a loving mom, is friends with Silver... but some details cause his first expression to be one of shock.

"Especially Gold, that guy's super violent, especially on the battlefield! His preferred method of killing is immolating his enemies' bodies completely..."

That plus the flashback-inducing electric attack that Gold had used against Silver in their battle... gives Aang a little reason for alarm.]

[But he still feels it's right to give him the benefit of the doubt. So once Appa lands near the fountain, Aang hops down and waves.]

Hey there! Gold, right? [Just look into his eyes, Aang.]

[Oh, if you only knew, Aang.]

Yeah, and you're... [...SHIT WHAT WAS HIS NAME

IT WAS...] ...Ahng, right?!

Close. ...It's Aang. How are you?

I'm doin' good! So hey, word on the street's you're takin' out for adventures!

Uh... yeah! That's me! This week, I'm Mr. Adventure! Are you up for one too, Gold?

You know it! That's why I'm here, of course!

Great! I can take you on one pretty soon. First, meet Appa! [And the sky bison approaches Gold.]

[Whoa, huge.]

H-heh, he's a lot bigger in person, huh?

[Action]

He must be, we've been getting that a lot! But I'm used to it. [Appa draws closer and sniffs at Gold.]

[HIS NOSE IS AS BIG AS GOLD IS...........

Okay, h-hey there, giant fluffball, let's just pat you on the nose.]

[Appa welcomes this pat. And repays him by licking him.]

Gyah! [Oh god it's in my everything.]

[Aang laughs and shrugs.]

It happens. You're friends, now. [But he'll quickly Waterbend the saliva off of him. With all the people he's introduced Appa to lately, it's become almost like instinct.]

[mischiefbreeder]

Right. Friends. [augh who needs friends like that so grossmslfknskzfds.]

So where we gonna go, then?!

[Action]

We could go anywhere around here. The mountains are the coolest spot, unless there's anywhere you'd rather go.

[mischiefbreeder]

The mountains're fine by me!

[Action]

Great! We can just get up on Appa's back whenever you're ready.

[Action]

[mischiefbreeder]

Gotcha! [Now... how to get on this behemoth's back...]

[Action]

[Aang does an Airbending-assisted jump onto Appa's back and looks down at Gold.]

Let me know if you need a hand!

[Action]

[mischiefbreeder]

No worries, I got this! [You don't mind a bit of fur-pulling, right Appa? Because Gold is grabbing clumps to scale your large body.]

[Action]

[It only irritates Appa a little; it's something he's gotten used to from all different kinds of people scaling him over the years. But Aang is still upset.]

Be gentle!

I'm tryin', I'm tryin'! [Geez you try getting on top of a giant sky bison without crazy wind powers. Regardless, Gold manages to get himself to the top of Appa. Success!]

[He could always use crazy earth powers instead. Aang sighs.]

It's okay. Just get yourself seated, Gold, and we can take off.
